超凈工作臺的優(yōu)點是操作方便自如，比較舒適，工作效率高，預備時間短，開機30分鐘以上即可操作，基本上可隨時使用。在工廠化生產(chǎn)中，接種工作量很大，需要經(jīng)常長久地工作時，超凈臺是很理想的設備。超凈工作臺由三相電機作鼓風動力，功率145～260W左右，將空氣通過由特制的微孔泡沫塑料片層疊合組成的“超級濾清器”后吹送出來，形成連續(xù)不斷的無塵無菌的超凈空氣層流，即所謂“的特殊空氣”，它除去了大于0.3μm的塵埃、真菌和細菌孢子等等。超凈空氣的流速為24~30m/min，這已足夠防止附近空氣可能襲擾而引起的污染，這樣的流速也不會妨礙采用酒精燈或本生燈對器械等的灼燒消毒。工作人員就在這樣的無菌條件下操作，保持無菌材料在轉移接種過程中不受污染。但是萬一操作中途遇到停電，暴露在未過濾空氣中的材料便難以幸免污染。這時應迅速結束工作，并在瓶上作出記號，內中的材料如處于增殖階段，則以后不再用作增殖而轉入生根培養(yǎng)。如為一般性生產(chǎn)材料，因極其豐富也可棄去。如處于生根過程，則可留待以后種植用。

超凈臺電源多采用三相四線制，其中有一零線，連通機器外殼，應接牢在地線上，另外三線都是相線，工作電壓是380V。三線接入電路中有一定的順序，如線頭接錯了，風機會反轉，這時聲音正常或稍不正常，超凈臺正面無風(可用酒精燈火焰觀察動靜，不宜久試)，應及時切斷電源，只要將其中任何兩相的線頭交換一下位置再接上，就可解決。三相線如只接入兩相，或三相中有一相接觸不良，則機器聲音很不正常，應立即切斷電源仔細檢修，否則會燒毀電機。這些常識應在開始使用超凈臺時就向工作人員講解清楚，免除不應造成的事故與損失。

超凈工作臺進風口在背面或正面的下方，金屬網(wǎng)罩內有一普通泡沫塑料片或無紡布，用以阻攔大顆粒塵埃，應常檢查、拆洗，如發(fā)現(xiàn)泡沫塑料老化，要及時更換。除進風口以外，如有漏氣孔隙，應當堵嚴，如貼膠布，塞棉花，貼膠水紙等。工作臺正面的金屬網(wǎng)罩內是超級濾清器，超級濾清器也可更換，如因使用年久，塵粒堵塞，風速減小，不能保證無菌操作時，則可換上新的。

 超凈臺使用壽命的長短與空氣的潔凈程度有關。在溫帶地區(qū)超凈臺可在一般實驗室使用，然而在熱帶或亞熱帶地區(qū)，由于大氣中含有高量的花粉，或多粉塵的地區(qū)，超凈臺則宜放在較好的有雙道門的室內使用。任何情況下不應將超凈臺的進風罩對著開敞的門或窗，以免影響濾清器的使用壽命。

無菌室應定期用70%酒精或0.5%苯酚噴霧降塵和消毒，用2%新潔爾滅抹拭臺面和用具(70%酒精也可)，用福爾馬林(40%甲醛)加少量高錳酸鉀定期密閉熏蒸，配合紫外線滅菌燈(每次開啟15分鐘以上)等等消毒滅菌手段，以使無菌室經(jīng)常保持高度的無菌狀態(tài)。接種箱內部也應裝有紫外線燈，使用前開燈15分鐘以上照射滅菌，但凡是照射不到之處仍是有菌的。在紫外線燈開啟時間較長時，可激發(fā)空氣中的氧分子締合成臭氧分子，這種氣體成分有很強的殺菌作用，可以對紫外線沒有直接照到的角落產(chǎn)生滅菌效果。由于臭氧有礙健康，在進入操作之前應先關掉紫外線燈，關后十多分鐘即可入內 。

 在超凈工作臺上亦可吊裝紫外線燈，但應裝在照明燈罩之外，并錯開照明燈平行排列，這樣在工作時不妨礙照明。若將紫外線燈裝入照明燈罩(玻璃板)里面，這是毫無用處的，因為紫外線不能穿透玻璃，它的燈管是石英玻璃，而不是硅酸鹽玻璃制成的。

 超凈工作臺內的小環(huán)境可被紫外燈消毒，并由過濾器鼓風系統(tǒng)使臺內形成一個較穩(wěn)定的無菌環(huán)境。工作中人的活動要盡量少改變臺內的空氣循環(huán)系統(tǒng)。

4.1.1使用工作臺時，應提前30分鐘開機，同時開啟紫外殺菌燈，處理操作區(qū)內表面積累的微生物，30分鐘后關閉殺菌燈（此時日光燈即開啟），啟動風機。

4.1.2對新安裝的或長期未使用的工作臺，使用前必需對工作臺和周圍環(huán)鏡先用超靜真空吸塵器或用不產(chǎn)生纖維的工具進行清潔工作，再采用藥物滅菌法或紫外線滅菌法進行滅菌處理。

4.1.3操作區(qū)內不允許存放不必要的物品，保持工作區(qū)的潔凈氣流流型不受干擾。

 4.1.4操作區(qū)內盡量避免作用明顯擾亂氣流流型的動作。
